Mushroom Flower Peace Sign Hippie Soul

This piece is made from stoneware clay, thrown on the wheel. While the clay is firming up a bit so it is able to be handled I work on making the moons and feet. Once it has firmed the clay details and attached I set it aside to dry slowly. Once dry it is off to the kiln for it's first round of firing. 

Once bisque fired, I hand paint it's design. Each one differs and is unique in it's character. Then I glaze over the the design and glaze the inside. Each ceramic piece takes multiple layers of glaze which I hand paint on each piece so that I have control over coverage and placement. 

Then into the kiln for it's next firing. I wipe it down and give it a thorough inspection and ready for it's new home. 

Mushrooms symbolize good luck, longevity, energy, transformation, and enlightenment.
