The Moon Tarot Card Cauldron Mug

This mug is made from stoneware clay, thrown on the wheel. While the mug is firming up a bit so it is able to be handled I work on making the mushrooms and pulling handles. Once it has firmed up I attach it's magical fungi, it's feet and other clay details. It is here that I add the underglaze transfer design. Then once it's handle is attached I set it aside to dry slowly. Once dry it is off to the kiln for it's first round of firing. 

Once bisqued I hand paint the rest of the design. Each one differs and is unique in it's character. Then I glaze over the the design and glaze the inside of the mug. Each ceramic piece takes multiple layers of glaze which I hand paint on each piece so that I have control over coverage and placement. Then into the kiln for it's final firing. I wipe it down and give it a thorough inspection. 

Mushrooms symbolize good luck, longevity, energy, transformation, and enlightenment. 

Microwave safe. Hand wash highly recommended.
